Here is a list of the various options available for transportation from the Cancun International Airport  to Villa Santuario.

You may choose to not hire a car for the whole time you are on holiday since the Villa is conveniently located within a short walking distance to the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. There are also many taxis in Playa del Carmen that make it easy to get around. If you choose to, you can hire a car once in Playa del Carmen. We can help organise the car rental for you or you can walk down La Quinta where you will find several car rental companies to choose from. From the airport you can also take an authorised white, yellow and black airport taxi. It's a 45-minute ride to Playa del Carmen. The ride will cost you around $60 USD and they will take you direct to the Villa.

 

If you are travelling in a group you may want to consider taking a private mini van. We can arrange to book this for you in advance. This is about $42 USD per person return trip. They will pick up and drop off from the Villa.

 

If you want to save some money, you can ride one of the Airport Vans that carry around 10 passengers and their luggage comfortably, dropping each party off at their requested hotel in turn. They don't leave at any specific time so you will have to wait until it's full enough to justify the trip. You may have to make stops at other resorts and hotels along the way, which can easily double the time it will take you to get to Playa del Carmen. To take one of these authorised taxi mini vans, go to any of the TTC kiosks located around the terminal and buy a ticket, or just step out of the arrival hall and you will get many offers. The price usually works out to about $18 USD per person.

 

Another great inexpensive alternative is to take a Bus. The Mexican bus company Riviera (side of busses say ADO) operate a direct bus service between Cancun airport and Playa del Carmen. Tickets are 65 pesos (about $7 USD) each way, either way. It leaves from outside the main arrival hall at the airport. Just before you exit the terminal, there is a Riviera counter where you buy the ticket. In Playa del Carmen the bus works out of the main bus terminal on 5th Avenue and Juarez.

Once you arrive at the Playa del Carmen bus terminal you will see a taxi rank to the right of the station. The cab fare from the bus terminal to the Villa will be around 50 to 60 pesos so between $5 to $6 USD. It is a very short cab ride from the station to the Villa. (See map below)
